Concussions

So I wanted to write down everything I remember about last night (which is not much) before I start to forget... I figured this is the perfect place.

• So I believe my first memory is talking with Casey in the car. I remember saying "Ok Casey, I'm think I'm coming to right now. What just happened?" Apparenlty I did this over and over again all night.
• I remember one of the nurses at some point when we were in the ER say, " I know her, she can be my patient". It was a friend from highschool.
• I KINDA remember some guy ask me to move from the gurney to the CT scan bed. I remember saying "if you make me lie down right now I'm going to throw up all over your machine". I remember him telling me no problem, and to lie down when I was ready.
• I remember a nurse trying to put an IV in my arm. As she was doing it I told the nurse that I have a really hard arm to put an IV in. (when I had mono... the nurse told me that in her 30 years of nursing, she's never seen such a hard vien). Putting it in my arm didn't work out... so she had to put it in my hand.
• I remember throwing up. A lot. And it hurt my stomach really bad. Casey told me that i'm a very violent thrower-upper (sorry- TMI).
• I remember my head hurt SO bad, and the only way I could get it to feel better was that I laid it down on the rail to my gurney... and put pressure on the spot that hurt really bad. Apparently shortly after that I fell asleep.
• I remember leaving... and the nurse wheeled me out into the FREEZING cold. I was still wearing my soccer shorts, shin guards and socks. I was shivering and pointed to the building where I work and told the nurse "that is where I work".

There are a few other bits and pieces... but that's pretty much it. It is so weird to me that I got hit, went to my appartment, went to the ER, had a CT scan, and was in the ER for four hours and I hardly remember anything about it.

On to more of how it happened... I was playing defender at our indoor soccer game. Apparenlty this jerk ( I only say jerk cause he was totally rude about it after and wouldn't even say sorry..or so Casey says) went to shoot the ball at the net. It had to of hit the right side of my face because there were soccer ball marks on my face. Also my jaw really hurts. My head hurts, and I have some chipped teeth. Oh and did I mention my head hurts? After the guy hit me and I fell to the floor, he still tried to play the ball and keep scoring to Casey, as the goalie, kicked the ball as hard as he could right at the guys's stomach. By then the ref was there and gave the guy a blue card and kicked him out of the game. Here's my two cents on him and not feeling the need to say sorry because I knew I was playing with guys: you a$$wipee. Yes, I take full responsibility to playing with guys, and I understand the risks I took by signing up. But on that same note- you are playing with GIRLS... so you should know better. Also you idiot, I was hit so hard I was knocked to the ground and my freaking teeth are chipped. Whether I was a guy or girl... I would have had a concussion.

casey did we win? casey what happened? casey where are we? casey why is my tooth chipped? casey my head hurts. concussions are the most annoying things in the world. i got asked each of these questions by Nicole Godfrey Houghton at least 10 times each in like 15 min. she is a trooper though, the nurse said it was one of the worst consussions she had ever seen. i am glad you are ok.

We tried going to the instacare but it was closed so we went to the ER. After a CT scan, they told us (well, mostly Casey... I still wasn't coherent) that everything looked normal. Apparently I was in quite a bit a pain cause the 8 miligrams of morphine they gave me didn't seem to help at all. They said my head would hurt for at least a few days... and I need a lot of sleep. On that note... I'm really tired and I'm gonna go rest. I will try to look at the positive and that I'm okay... and that only one Godfrey needs brain surgery this week ;).
