So over three years ago when Casey and I were deciding to have kids, we had a really hard time knowing if it was the right time or not. No matter how much we both prayed and tried to get an answer... we really weren't getting anything either way. When we would sit in sacrament (oh, how little did we know how lucky we were to just SIT back then!) we would doodle and often doodle baby names. We knew Easton... Casey had told me on our second date that he'd known since he was 12 that he wanted to name his first born Easton. We also had a few other boy names we liked, but on this particular Sunday I was doodling the name Elsie. Not really sure where I got it from... but I was really liking it and Casey liked it too.
Back then I had every Wednesday off of work so I would go have lunch with Casey at work and then go to the temple with Corrine. After I had lunch with Casey that day, and as I was saying bye, I said "Okay, well I'm going to the temple now to pray about Elsie". Well Corrine and I were doing a session that day... even though most often we did initiatories. The temple worker started handing Corrine the name and then moved her arm and gave it to me instead. When I saw the name on the paper, my heart sank. "Elsie...". If that's not an answer to a prayer, I don't know what is.
Then today in the ultrasound after the tech told me it was a girl, my heart kind of sank again. The baby in the ultrasound IS Elsie. I couldn't help but tear up and feel very close to this little girl! I feel so lucky to be having another little angel!
