Hard Work
Can I just say Casey and I are TIRED?!!
I didn't really understand what I was getting into when we took on remodeling the condo. People told me it would be hard work, and they were right-especially the tile! Down on all fours scrubbing grout up with all my might at 1 in the morning last night when I had to be at work at 6:30 was definately not wise! And that is after a full week of non-stop running in order to get the condo painted, tiled and beadboarded in time before carpet comes on Monday.
We had painted all the the rooms and then we started painting the baseboards in the condo (a lot of them needed it), not realizing that we would then need to paint all the doors to match. Twice (second coat). Then tiling consisted of one night laying all the morter and tile- can I just say messy and maticulous- then the next night putting grout down - the hard part was getting it back up and clean. I really felt like Cinderella there for a little bit. Also last night we decided that the bathroom wasn't yellow enough and we wanted to repaint it. We just went to Walmart and Casey picked out "dragonfly yellow". It was definately bright in the can but thought once it got on the walls it would tone down a bit. Nope- our bathroom walls look like they could have been painted with a yellow highglight haha. I think once I get used to it I will love it. Plus it might give me a little extra help waking up in the morning.
Last night when Casey and I went to bed our feet were pounding and our heads felt like we were hit by a train. You know when it hurts to sit down and relax cause you are just so tired?
On the agenda for tommorow is grouting the bathroom and laundry closet, and beadboarding the kitchen and living room. Then monday comes the carpet, and tuesday WE MOVE IN :) !!!

Finally.
WE GOT THE KEYS!!!
After much delay, we finally closed and got the keys to our new condo, and let me just tell you I AM IN LOVE. I love that we have a dishwasher. I love that I have a normal sized fridge and oven. I love that we have a washer and dryer. I love that we have a spare bedroom. I love that we have two sinks in our bathroom and that Casey has already told me I'm not allowed using "his" sink. I love that we have a door to our bedroom. I love that I have a normal-sized closet. I love that we are going to have a kitchen table and a place to sit and eat. I love that we have a pool and jacuzzi.
Oh- I am also thrilled with all of the paint colors. The blue in the kitchen is fantastic! The bedroom turned out exactly how we wanted it and the office after we do the woodwork will be darling.
Can you tell i'm excited?
